FAQ

We need your data for two reasons:

  1. Your data is needed for the PCR result (findings).
  2. According to §7 (1) of the german Infection Protection Act (IfSG), we must report the detection of CoVid-19 directly to the authorities. Your data will be processed in accordance with the DSGVO.

PCR-NOW does not participate in the testing programme of the Freestate of Bavaria. You can also get tested free of charge at any time, e.g. via your family doctor.

The result is made available in German and in English.

The analysis shows a positive result. SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected in the tested sample. The test result indicates an infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The result will be reported to the authorities. Please go into self-isolation immediately, inform your contacts and wear FFP-2 masks.

The analysis shows a negative result. No SARS-CoV-2 RNA could be detected in the tested sample. The test result speaks against an infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Unfortunately not, we send the findings exclusively by e-mail. Please make sure you enter your e-mail address correctly.

Please check your email and spam folder. If the problem cannot be solved, please send an e-mail to info@PCR-NOW.de.

According to the right of withdrawal, you have the option to cancel the appointment. You will find further information in the general terms and conditions and the cancellation policy.

Cancellation is possible up to eight hours before the appointment.

You can change your booked appointment. With the confirmation email you will receive a link that you can use to conveniently reschedule the PCR-test.

In case of an acute infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the RNA of the virus can be detected by PCR analysis. A positive test result represents reliable evidence of an existing infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. A negative result means that the virus could not be detected in the sample. Please note that this test is subject to some limitations.

Even a negative PCR result cannot completely rule out infection with SARS-CoV-2. False-negative analysis results cannot be completely excluded, e.g. due to insufficient quality of the sample, improper transport or unfavourable timing of sample collection (related to the course of the disease). The test results should therefore only be interpreted in the light of the patient’s medical history.

If there is a reasonable suspicion of SARS-CoV-2 infection and a negative PCR test, a new sample collection and PCR test should be considered and self-isolation should be started. In this case, FFP-2 face masks should be worn. A PCR test is suitable for detecting acute SARS-CoV-2 infection, but not for clarifying whether the patient is still contagious (infectivity). In this case, an antibody test may be useful.

Highly scientific standards are applied to PCR analysis in the provision of services by PCR-NOW.

Nevertheless, in rare and isolated cases, a false positive or false negative test result may occur in SARS-CoV-2 testing by PCR technique. This is usually caused by errors in the pre-analysis (e.g. incorrect smear technique, eating/smoking shortly before the sample, contaminated samples, temperature fluctuations, etc.). Furthermore, technical problems with the laboratory equipment and unpredictable factors can lead to false test results.

The detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in a swab of the oral pharynx can only be done if there is a sufficient amount of virus in the area of the swab. In an early stage of the disease, it may be difficult to detect SARS-CoV-2 infection.

If there is a reasonable suspicion of SARS-CoV-2 infection and a negative PCR test, recollection of the specimen and a PCR test should be considered, and self-isolation should be started. In this case, FFP-2 face masks must be worn and the applicable hygiene measures of the RKI and the health authorities must be observed (see www.rki.de).

The customer’s/consumer’s claims for damages are expressly excluded.  Damages (such as travel cancellations, lost business, third party costs, etc.) due to delayed transmission of findings, an incorrect test result or because the findings produced are not recognised by certain authorities/public bodies in Germany/a certain destination country are excluded.

The written exclusion of liability applies in favour of PCR-NOW as well as their respective legal representatives and vicarious agents. Excluded from the exclusion of liability are claims for damages by the customer/consumer arising from injury to life, limb or health or from the breach of essential contractual obligations (i.e. obligations the fulfilment of which is a prerequisite for the achievement of the contractual objective), as well as liability in the event of other damage, in the event of an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty by PCR-NOW or its legal representatives or vicarious agents. Simple and negligent breaches of essential contractual obligations shall be limited to liability for typical contractual and foreseeable damages. Exception: it concerns claims for damages of the customer from the injury of the body & life, the health or from the injury of substantial contract obligations.

In the event that PCR-NOW is unable to provide the service on the contractually agreed date due to its own fault, the customer/consumer may decide whether to accept the service on another date that can be freely booked via the web portal or whether the customer shall withdraw from the contract against reimbursement of the remuneration. Should a new PCR test become necessary, the entire service shall be charged again.

PCR-NOW must then be informed of the customer’s decision. This shall be done by e-mail to the e-mail address info@pcr-now.de.
